g26
Hi everyone- I just started resurrecting a 1978 DT400E with 7,000 miles on it. Don't have a manual yet, but it's on order. I'll be spending a lot of time on these forums, I just know it. I received new fork tubes with the bike, which I'll be installing tonight. Could someone be so kind as to check their manual and tell me how much fluid goes in each tube? I'd really appreciate it. I know it'll be in my manual, but I can admittedly be very impatient at times. I did an engine-in frame paint on it so far, and will be using Krylon Fusion Sunbeam Yellow on the plastics, assuming it's as close a match as I've read that it is. I've polished the wheels and front forks, and did some other things that it seemed to need. I'll post pics when I get it closer to "done". I'm looking for the black triangular side covers that mount below the yellow ones, and I'm also looking for an air filter cage. Mine's missing (which makes me question the motor). It starts well, but I have to replace the throttle cable before I can really drive it at all. Remains to be seen. If anyone can help me with my fork oil question or parts search, I'd much appreciate it. Ebay so far hasn't produced the side covers. Thanks, Brian
