Posted August 9, 200717 yr .....cos I've had to say goodbye to an old friend! The mighty XT is now on it's final journey back to Wales. For the first time in my life (and that's 54 bikes in the last 36 years)....I'm genuinely sorry to see a bike go. I've never owned a bike for the length of time I've had the XT, and it's never missed a beat here, or in the UK. But the bureaucracy surrounding importing foreign vehicles into Spain makes it very difficult to register it here. I've had to ride it illegally for the last year, and now the Guardia Civil is cracking down on Brit plate vehicles, I have no other option than to ship it back. A mate of mine in Cardiff has bought it.....and he's a Yamaha enthusiast too. So it couldn't go to a better home! That's the only consolation for me.....it's going to a Welshman who'll look after it as well as I have! Great machine....I'll never forget it.
September 28, 200717 yr I didn't think it was too difficult to re plate other than the fact you have to pay tax as you would do if you were to purchase a pre registered Spanish vehicle?
