Hi all

Just bought a 97 xvs 650 second one, love the colour, have taken it to the garage as it needs a service and the front forks seem really soft, is it a case of replaceing the seals or do i need new forks?

cheers

You might need new seals and a change of fluid. It could just be a case of the previous owner hadnt either enough fluid in the forks or hadnt changed the fluid in a while and let the fluid degrade but its worth draining out the forks and replacing the seals. Just to be sure. The forks themselves should be fine unless visibly damaged and out of line in any way but by the sounds of it its just the fluid.
