Posted July 1, 200717 yr Hi can anyone help I have bought a yamaha xtz750 1990 with a missfire I have cleaned the carbs and checked the settings as it was running very rich but still missfires.Thought I would check the spark so out came the plugs, whilst cranking the engine over smoke started coming from the regulator/rectifier .Could a faulty reg/rect been the reason for the missfire I only cranked it over for about ten seconds.If I just replace the reg/rect is there any chance this will also burn out, any advice and help would be very much appreciated
