Posted June 26, 200717 yr Hi all, i'm new here. I've just passed my test and i'm all set to buy an R6, I'm a little confused when it comes to insurance quotes tho, There are 2 choices.... YZF R6 Extreme performance (2000 - on) and..... YZF R6 - 599cc (1998 - 2001) Can anybody tell me the difference between these bikes? The bike i've seen is a 2001 but the difference in the insurance between an "extreme performance" and the other model is massive! Thanks chris

June 27, 200717 yr Author Its a 2001 bike, it was an option on the list of bikes on Bennets ins.page. one quote came out at £360 and the other £1400 I've spoke to the bloke who has the bike and he's never heard of it either..... maybe a special edition?
June 30, 200717 yr I know what you mean, the bike you are looking to buy wont be an extreme otherwise the bloke selling it would know about it and more than likely sell it for more im guessing its some kind of limited edition with a few more horsies
