Does anyone know if the last two digits on the frame number indicate the year of the bike. I just bought an older IT 400 sky blue color bike and would like to find out more about it. Had some old 76 DT and miss them. Found this for cheap price. Any good sites for parts would also be helpful. Thanks..

Hi mate, i was on a similar mission for an XS 250 I picked up..

I managed to get a service manual for mine, and it said that the the first 3 characters of the frame number indicate the year..

This site has a list of them all..
