bradleynet1 Posted June 25, 2007 Share Posted June 25, 2007 I have an rs100 I have set the auto-lube gap to the Manuals speciation as well cleaned and reset the carb and checked everything else. When I run the bike for the first few hours it runs perfectly and the slowly it goes back to the same problem , of poor and delayed acceleration almost as if it is starving for either fuel or oil. When I set it up I have good smoke, when it gets poor I have allot of smoke blowing especially when it’s warmed up. A friend has recommended cutting out the auto-lube system altogether and doing a mix in the tank, is this a good idea and does anybody know what the mix ratio is? Hi Martin the plug is bad , the pump doesn't have a mark , that was on the older model , mine is a 1980 model which you can only set the gap on, not line up the pulley. i was speaking to another guy today and he is certain it's the baffel which i think has never been cleaned. I cleaned the baffle out which was completely clogged, and then i tackled the points which was the root of the problem. It took me about two hours to find the sweet spot and now she runs beautifully, and has good smoke. The problem is i found the sweet spot by luck; i now need to learn how to set the point’s straight away. I also reset the gap on the auto-lube pump which now gives me a good mix. yamyam thank you maam Posted July 1, 2007 Share Posted July 1, 2007 have you considerd your oil crank pressure maybe you need new seals could be that also check your reed valve and coil output sometimes coils work great for a period but soon weaken after running a short while if they are on there way out also maybe check youre exhaust isnt fould up with carbon Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
