86 XV700 CDI Ignitor shot....again

A bit over a year ago my XV700's ignitor box failed. It went to only rear cylinder firing. The front coil had some spark, but too weak to fire cylinder, and spark dissapeared at any throttle above idle. I bought another used one & she then ran fine. Now she did the same thing again over the weekend. Limped home on one cylinder. Lucky I was only 30 miles from home. Wondering if this was/is a problem with these models?? I'm looking at new ignitor box, but wanted to make sure there isn't anything else that could lead to the ignitor failure. I love the Virago line. My plan is to repair this one, sell it, then get a later model Virago 1100. But I want this one going in the meantime. Thanks in advance.
