iv only done 200 miles on my 07 R1 and it could be too early to say .im not happy with the stiffer suspension setup when compared to the previous R1s ( iv owned 5 previous models ).the bike is turning slow ( could be the tyres ) and the rear is far too stiff.im 13.5 stone ,so not light aswell.i have a very rough idea on setup but i know its very easy to do it all wrong ,especially when there is 7 different places to alter the setup .the obvious one to do first would be the rear rebound i think .what are other riders doing to their 07 R1s ? i ride on the road and i ride fast ,so i need to get it setup as good as i can.if i can get it the same setup as my old 05 R1 which was just right for me in standard setup then il be really happy. basicly thats what im aiming for.

hi there, i used to race an R1 so i should be able to help out bud

Too stiff at rear and too slow at the front, to me sounds like because of your extra weight (just over the average which is about 10.5 stone ringing wet i recon!!?!) the bike is sagging at the rear, altering the steering head angle, and the too stiff is compression damping (and possibly rebound but don't touch it for now)

Always, in my opinion start with the preload! put a bit more preload on it and take a couple of clicks OFF compression damping. then take her for a spin and see how she feels, my guess is she'll feel a shed load better!

If she is better but not quite right, tell me what shes doing in more detail and we'll take it from there.

Hope this helps, Dave. :D:D
