May 30, 200717 yr Moderator I use carb cleaner to clean any muck that's built up in the cable housing.... Then a good healthy dose of Silicone Spray on ALL cables..........works a treat.

Then a good healthy dose of Silicone Spray on ALL cables..........works a treat. the trouble with that is, carb cleaner may take away the remainder of the grease thats in there, and any lubeing will be less effective as the grease should aid it from draining away
