whillis Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Hi, I have a 98 thundercat, and its been great untill now. For some reason it is getting hard to start it. I turn off the alarm, turn on the ignition the fuel pump clicks a couple of time, then press the starter button. It will turn over for age's then fires one 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 and its away, but this can take several attempts. It used to start without a problem, I have just had the carbs balanced to see if it would help but no good. Should the fuel pump click or should it buzz, it has always clicked even when it was starting ok. Hope you guys got some good idea's Kind regards whillis
Willenium Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Mine makes clunking noises or sometimes nothing at all. I find that I have to give mine a little bit of throttle as I crank it over or it wont fire.
neil-00cat Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Have a go at pulling the choke out half way, but dont use any throttle, the clicking sound is just the fuel pump priming. Other than that i've always found a new set of plugs and a shot of redex through the carbs helps with cold start problems.
