I have a 1976 DT400 that is relatively new to me. In fact, bikes are relatively new to me. It starts and runs great, but has no battery, so I'm assuming it runs directly off the alternator? When I bought it the head & tail lights worked, but were very dim. Now they don't work at all, I've been told it's because the DC will burn out the lights because there's no battery. So - what parts do I need to get in order to bring it "back to stock?" By the way, the on/off switch is broken - I kill the bike by either the compression release or just stalling it out. And there are no turn signals either. I guess it's set up "hotwired." Any suggestions? I like cruising the bike around town but would like to have the lights work for safety reasons and so I don't get pulled over...
