Just picked up a 1995 YZF600 and the front wheel has some damage to it and needs to be replaced, I searched around and cant find anything available for it

I don't care for the purple color and was just thinking of changing out both the front and rear rims. Are there any other years/models that have rims which could be used?

I was really hoping to pick up to pick up some R1 wheels but woudl hate to spend the $$ and find out they don't fit

R1 Rims are too wide.

It's recommended that you stick to the 160 tyre on the back of the YZF600 (Thundercat).

I think Fazer wheels are the same as the YZF600's

thanks, how about just using newer YZF wheels, will they still bolt up and work fine?

That should be fine I don't think they ever changed the wheel on the YZF600R during it's life span.
