XV125 Virago non starter

Hi All

Im looking at buying a XV125 Virago but its a non runner, been told by the owner it will turn over on the starter, doesn't make any bad noises, sounds like it has comperssion but just wont start.

Do the virago's have any common faults to stop them starting like Ignition modules carbs etc

I would go and have a look before buying it but its quite a way away so i dont want to end up with a lemon.

Any help would be good

One other thing, are these restricted output engines, going to take my test soon (couple of months but need a bike now to get to work) and wondered if i can up the power output till i can change to a different bike.
