yanto
What cleaning products does everyone use to clean their pride and joy? And no fairy liquid!!!
Moderator YamaHead Posted April 5, 2007 Moderator Share Posted April 5, 2007 Dish Soap & some Hot Water does the job nicely on my 25 y/o Beast..... As well as some Armor-All to make everything shine again. Now, I'm sure Pete, our resident Polishing Guru , will be along shortly to degrade my cleaning practices Afterall, he does go through more cleaning agents than he does petrol & oil! Rog
I use the following Muck off for the whole bike then; Armor all carshampoo and wipe on wax for fairings; then WD40 for wheels and tough road tar bits; Armor all plastics spray for the black plastic bits; Autosol for metal bits (only when necessary). One thing I do use is a garden pump sprayer for water as its powerful enough to remove dirt adn stuff after muck off but not powerful enough to cause problems with bearings a stuff

Moderator YamaHead Posted April 9, 2007 Moderator Share Posted April 9, 2007 Then go and talk shit on the Internet and make a mental note never to let it get dirty again. Cuz you too can be like Pete & only have around 400 miles on your bike so far this year. Waaaay more fun to ride 'em & get 'em dirty than waste time polishing

Robbie
Whatever happens never ever use T-cut cos ill come and find you and chop your arms off. It contains Ammonium (NH4) which is very corrosive almost like bird lime. I use diesel to get rid of other oil deposits as you can leave it on paint work with no problems - just be careful near the brakes. As far as muck off goes follow the instructions and there should be no problem, leave it on for too long however and it will eat into the pint work.
