Hi all,

I got myself a 2003 R6 last october after lusting after it for ages! I love it to bits and cant fault it only its previous owner only had 1 key, not a problem i thought i will get one cut.

Bugger.

After reading through the owners manual and surfing the net it seems i need my red key to get one programed, I have read about getting my current black key cloned so im not f*&k$d if i lose one.

Has any one had this done on a Yamaha R6 or know of anywhere where it can be done? Come on i cant be alone out there with only one key!

Hi Mate,

Just bought my 2005 R6 about a month ago and was told if you loose the red key you have to have a new key barrel and a new set of keys programmed.

The dealer said it costs a few hundred quid to sort so i would phone up your local people

All the keys have to be cut and programmed round the red one.
