Ghostrider! Posted March 15, 2007 Share Posted March 15, 2007 Hi all, I got myself a 2003 R6 last october after lusting after it for ages! I love it to bits and cant fault it only its previous owner only had 1 key, not a problem i thought i will get one cut. Bugger. After reading through the owners manual and surfing the net it seems i need my red key to get one programed, I have read about getting my current black key cloned so im not f*&k$d if i lose one. Has any one had this done on a Yamaha R6 or know of anywhere where it can be done? Come on i cant be alone out there with only one key! Cheers, any help appreciated! R46Geeza Posted March 15, 2007 Share Posted March 15, 2007 Hi Mate, Just bought my 2005 R6 about a month ago and was told if you loose the red key you have to have a new key barrel and a new set of keys programmed. The dealer said it costs a few hundred quid to sort so i would phone up your local people All the keys have to be cut and programmed round the red one.
