Sorry - original post in wrong forum.

What kind of set up do you guys use for washing / cleaning parts? I've seen a few on Ebay with the pumps - but not sure of the quaility and if I really need another piece of equipment if a plastic dish sink pan and stiff brush would suffice.

Also - what type of solvents do you prefer?

Thanks for the input.

I always use Parrafin and a toothbrush for grubbed up parts.it's cheap and you can flush the part with clean parrafin easily.

Just about to buy another parts washer myself there are two versions that come with pumps one has an electric pump and the other runs pneumatically with air. Either is ok. Size well that’s going to be down to space amount of use and the size of part your planning on cleaning

Regards cleaning agents Chris is right on the paraffin it’s effective and cheap however it depends on why you’re cleaning the parts. If there being cleaned prior to being painted then personally I wouldn’t use as it leaves a microscopic greasy layer which embeds quite deep into the surface and causes problems after a while on your new paint. Other than that it’s all good.

If you’re looking at a commercial cleaner than that’s fine but I would rather pay for the concentrate rather than the ready to use stuff little dearer but lasts longer. I know emptying and refilling can be a pain in the  but if you regularly filter your fluids that are in use you will find you will get more out of them.

Cheers
