Posted February 12, 200718 yr much as i love my rsx the 6 volt system is getting on my wick. does anyone know is it possible to upgrade to a 12 volt system? it would be nice to have the indicators flash at idle for a change!!!!.
March 20, 200718 yr i think a tzr125 generator will fit the rxs and change it to a twelve volt or just keep the 6v and put lesser wattage 6v bulbs in they wont be brighter but the electrics should work a bit better as ther is lees demand in the jenny
June 20, 200718 yr flasher relays sometimes gum up a bit open it up and spray some wd40 in them the output from your generator is more than twenty volts I know that you might think it would be less but the voltage is governed by a regulator and converted to 6v D C (thats what your battery needs) by a Rectifier if you change the regulator rectifier for one rated at 12 volts thats what you will get. you will need a 12v bat bulbs all round, coil, flasher unit all made for 12v ......... the usual problem with old bikes is bad connections bad earths and a battery that looks like a fossil.
