I lost a key from a boozy night out, so having only 1 key left i thought it would be wise to get a pair of backups made.

called up the dealership, gave them my key code, eng no, frame no and he said it would be no problem, pick em up the next day, so i did.

Only problem being these new keys are good enough to open the petrol tank and not start her up! They dont even look the same at the bottom of the key as my original.

Any ideas?

I had exactly the same issue with my keys cut from yamaha...

I ended up filing the edges down my self and they were fine, but still they should be right the first time!

I was looking after a 600 Katana back in '98......ended up breaking a key with it as well  ...

Couldn't find another one to save my life <_< ......

Funny thing is that I ended up getting a key from a Subaru to work! .....made from the same pattern I reckon. ;)
