Well had a close call on the way to work. To be completely honest here I'm 50:50 whether this was my mistake or just bad luck.

I always keep to the left on this particular exit as the road merges ahead and it gives me the space to run off to the left if anything like the video were to happen.

unexpected backing up on exits happens here in the uk too now, part of the incident may be down to constrained vision available due to the concrete and tunnel effects but you'll be aware next time. we all get caught out occasionally so bad luck covers it i suppose although having had that happen it sharpens the old sixth sense so not all bad and no contact is something to be grateful for. hope you have a good Christmas and new year.

After rewatching it, I failed to notice the BMW brake lights flashing as it started an emergency stop and also it's hazard lights. I guess the other issue is pupil dilation and from the light going bright dark bright dark.

i think you focused on the immediate area as you were moving over.

failed to look as far as possible and adjust your speed due to the above.
use IPSGA

information then position then speed, gear and acceleration.

You could always say you deliberately dropped to the left side in case the car behind you didn't stop in time! 😉

i've had much worse, usually i'm to blame lol.
