i'm not that knowledgeable about bikes but this particular one strikes me as rather a mystery, on one hand the tall bars and tail bar make it look like a chopper but then if you imagine it without those and a minimal seat then it has the look of a scrambler, especially if it had a scrambler exhaust high up to the side. What would it have looked like originally I cannot help but wonder, are those handle bars original please?

Is it actually adjustable? I'm not sure if it will make much difference. My eyes ARE however drawn to your primary drive. That's a LOT of wear. You need a new drive chain (primary, chain, secondary).

This is what it would have looked like originaly.

So the seat, sissy bar, front mudguard and exhausts have been changed.

thanks amb, i see it is annotated 'custom' meaning americanised i think. i prefer the wire wheels that you have now.

Well it looks like the engine has to come out again and have the head off.

Only runs on one cylinder, got spark, got fuel, won't run on the left side.

Vlaves are not stuck, so engine out, head off and we need to have a look inside.

never mind.

oh dear

Stripped the engine out of the bike and put the rest in my new shed.

Then I took the engine apart.

Judging by all the oil hanging about on the non working side, I think it needs new gaskets and piston rings.

Center stand does not seem big enough to hold the bike properly, will fudge it for now with a bit of wood.

I expect once the bike is done I will just stick with the side stand and take it off.

Don't forget, you've got no weight on that frame, your suspension is happily sitting at full height! I suspect as you put more bits on, it will get better...
