I have not been here in some time, but I have a question about rejeting two carbs instead of all 3. the reason is that I put on a new set of 3 into 1 pipes. the right and ctr carbs are much shorter than the left pipe. The pipes are from MAC Pipe co. Ithink that the back pressure is so much less on the right and ctr cyls because of short pipes because the plugs are tanish white on both and the plug on the left cyl is normal color. this is after running 70 mph for 10 miles and killing the engine with kill switch and throttle in same place, with clutch in. So is it smart to put in 1 or 2sizes larger jets on those 2 carbs ? Any help is welcomed, thanks Jim

I have just joined this site a couple of minutes ago and read you message. I don't know if this helps but if you go to the Mikuni website it has alot of information about carb tuning see: http://www.mikuni.com/pdf/vmmanual.pdf

Also if you look at the "spark-plugs" website at: http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/technical/diagnosis.htm

this may help.

I am no expert on carbs and plugs, but have a problem with my DT 175 and have ben looking at these sites, in particular the Mikuni carb site as it is specific to tuning.

Hope this of use.

Tom.
