Posted Tuesday at 07:36 AM3 days Moderator Well, as some of you may have noticed, there have been one or two slight, minor, hardly noticeable changes to the Forums...I'm sorry, I'm English, sometimes we don't realise that Sarcasm Mode is engaged! So, long and short of it, I blame Alex, he broke it!!! lolNo seriously, there's been an upgrade to Invision v5, and it obviously hasn't gone as smoothly as possible.I got this message from Alex last night:Hi Paul,Hope all is well.I've seen your comments on the board but can't respond! The upgrade to v5 of the forum software has been a disaster. It was fully tested in the same environment, applications etc. I also waited for two revisions after the v5 went live to ensure we didn't have this issue. All testing went perfectly. However on rollout and after migrating the databases, I discovered there's an issue with certain member groups breaking the WYSIWYG editor. I'm in one of those groups.Invision have a ticket on this and they've discovered it's a remnant from v2 of Invision in how the member groups are allocated. They have a fix coming but we just have to wait. They gave me some solutions to try I could do manually but none of them worked. An absolute pain in the ass.AlexSo, for those of you wondering, it's being worked on and hopefully things should be fixed soon!
Tuesday at 07:47 PM3 days Admin Well good news, applied the latest patch from support and the remaining issues I'm aware of appear fixed. Please let me know if there is anything else you spot. Well this will teach me to upgrade a bit too early. Sorry for all the issues everyone.
Wednesday at 06:58 PM2 days Well, as some of you may have noticed, there have been one or two slight, minor, hardly noticeable changes to the Forums...Nope hadn't noticed any changes!🤣🤣Here's one for you Alex, having just posted , if you go to the Bar, and sort into Recently Updated, then this topic should be at the top of the page...but it's not! 😆..and its not just restricted to the bar.... I've replied to the topic from Dutch and again its not sorting with the most recent post at the Top.
Thursday at 02:22 AM1 day Admin Hi @NE0 thanks for pointing out. The issue here is that the pinned posts will always stay on top. However I'm pretty confident those pinned posts were unpinned a long time back. I'm guessing v5 may handle them differently. Will go through and unpin where neccessary.
Thursday at 09:19 AM1 day Ahhh yes I see the pin now!!! didn't spot it!! makes sense, that its the first post AFTER the pinned posts....As an alternative possible solution? maybe the pinned posts could have a subtle coloured background panel as a visible indicator. something like that? ...just a suggestion.
