muzzleloader
Hi Have just rec'd a letter from Yamaha UK re a safety issue re XV1600 gearbox (4th gear pinion). Have contacted my dealer and am advised that the engine must be completely stripped to install new parts. I would like to know if this is a design problem material defect batch problem or manufacture I am not doubting the quality of work that my dealer can perform but would like to receive any advise if this is applicable to all XV1600 machines. I understand there was a recal in 2003 re the gearbox circlip but my Y2000 machine was not effected. Any comments very much appreciated Regards Muzz
Robbie
I think there is something in MCN this week regarding a lot of the 2000 range being recalled by yamaha due to gearbox and electrical problems including the R1. Hope this helps
