XMax 300 Coolant

Hi

Hope someone can help me with this.

I live in Turkey and the local Yamaha dealer/service agents aren't any help.

I've had the XMax scooter from new (2019) and never had the coolant replaced.

I had a split pipe in the coolant system at its join with the reserve tank, resulting in the reserve tank emptying itself.

I've fixed the pipe, but the coolant that dripped out was an orange colour.

Yamalude coolant appears to be blue coloured, so I'm not sure what type to top it up with.

Anyone with any idea what coolant I should use?

Any info appreciated.

I don't really want to flush the system and refill, but will if needed.

How can Yamaha dealers/service agents not know what coolant it should take?

That is something I too don't understand.

I'm also surprised that only the capacity is listed in the owners manual and the coolant spec.

A quick google search reveals that:

Orange Coolants are also known as OAT coolants. OAT coolant stands for Organic Acid Technologies and is specifically designed for newer vehicles that contain more nylon or aluminium parts in them.

whereas blues and greens are typically ethylene glycol based coolant.

What it does go on to say though, is you shouldn't mix the colours.
