Guest grood Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Hello All. I've been the proud owner of a tatty as @$£& RXS100 for some time now, using it as a second to my Enfield Bullet. My bullet does 300-600 miles per week, and has it's neck wrung regularly, facilitated by the use of some performance parts (amal concentric, straight through pipe, high comp. piston, revised gearing, etc.). Sadly though, the big end gave way earlier in the week, causing the con rod to punch a fist sized hole in the cases, smashing the front plates up and bending the front down tube in it's haste to dash itself on the tarmac. The head and timing gear survived, but sadly the rest of the engine is now kaput. This is going to take me several weeks to rectify, and even longer to pay for. I'd been neglecting the RXS these last few months, and so I've a bit of work to do before it's MOT tomorrow, but it should sail through. Last time I'd had cause to use it I was still married and living a mile or so from the NHS site where I work, now though, I have a lengthier commute and find the bike's top speed to be a bit low for even my modest tastes. I read in a posting somewhere that raising the roof of the ex. port by 1-2mm coupled with an expansion chamber + larger main jet and revised gearing would make the bike perform in a more pleasing way. I can believe this. I ask if anyone has any other suggestions, and also if anyone knows where to purchase a performance exhaust for the RXS or even has one themselves that they'd like to sell (Eg. Allspeed or Micron), that they please get in touch. All replies gratefully recieved. Thanks, Michael.
