mozpdragon
Hi I'm having a little problem getting the xj600 90 reg started, I'v got the engine turning over with good compression but no spark. I have checked the coils and the pre pick up and all the wiring they are all coming back with the correct readings. could it be a fault with the clutch or side stand switch or even the ignition switch. Any help would be helpful.
NE0
hi Moz, Is there an Engine kill switch on the handlebar controls? This simple switch (if there is one) grounds the ignition, if the live wire that goes to it is grounding before it gets there, then you'll get no spark but the engine will turn over. Moderator Solution drewpy Posted February 18 Moderator Solution Share Posted February 18 process of elimination rather than swapping parts. bypass the switches one by one. When I had issues like that, it turned out to be a fault in a wire from the sensor even though it ohm'd out ok
