Hi Alex,  Somethings happened to the site, all the recent posts have gone and the pages have reverted back to an earlier date.

I'm unable to PM you as that option is not available on my level of access.

so i thought this was the best way to notify you, hope you read it.

The server was hacked yesterday.

Alex has restored to a 10 day old backup, which is why some posts are missing.
He's flying out to Japan so didn't have enough time to do anything further...

Yes sadly we were hacked, well the forum wasn't, it was my server, which contains some other sites too. I thought reverting to the older version would have fixed the issue. But I've realised the malware was sitting dormant for a while. I now need to revert to an even older version. I have the time now though to use the existing database, annoyingly I'll need to turn the board off for 0.5>1 day, so that I can restore and reupload the database.

Fingers crossed and chat soon.

Done and dusted now. However we will need to redeploy everything from scratch on a new server, this backup I can't find any evidence of the Malware but I don't know how long it may have been dormant for or if it was loaded to RAM, or any backdoors enabled.

I have no idea how the server was exploited, the only vunerabilty I could find was that one of my dev sites had an old version of PHP. I think that was the most likely culprit.
