I have 2 CDI units for my Sr125, on the one unit the bike runs reliably but maxes out at 50mph and has poor acceleration.

On the other Unit I will hit 60mph easily and acceleration is good, but after 12 miles misfires and becomes unrideable

So, both units I believe are at fault. 
 

For the early unit 5HO-MO  very few are available. For the later unit there are more on eBay.

Q1 has anyone used a later unit on an earlier bike?

Q2 has anyone found an alternative new manufactured CDI that will work well.

Just putting this back out there again. I’ve had 2 used ones from eBay which have resulted in no spark at all, so I’m back on the existing one which gives limited performance 

In case it helps someone, you can get them repaired , but it’s expensive!
