So I was thinking to buy this bike 2010 XJ6 with over  60000mls for under 1K GBP

And I was wondering how to fix the speedometer?

Seller was saying it reads half of the real speed.

Put twice as many teeth on the sprocket...
Change the drive cable...
Buy a new speedo...

Too little information, too many answers... :D

I meant the sprocket in the wheel end of the speedo cable.
And the fact that it could be anything and no way of knowing what without investigation...

They have a digital dash so will be a speed sensor on that.

If it's only reading half of actual speed then it will probably just be a sensor issue, or it could be whatever actuates the sensor. Might be a pair of magnets and one of them is missing.
