jsp
So I was thinking to buy this bike 2010 XJ6 with over 60000mls for under 1K GBP And I was wondering how to fix the speedometer? Seller was saying it reads half of the real speed.
Moderator Snakebite68 Posted October 20, 2021 Moderator Share Posted October 20, 2021 Put twice as many teeth on the sprocket... Change the drive cable... Buy a new speedo... Too little information, too many answers...

Moderator Snakebite68 Posted October 21, 2021 Moderator Share Posted October 21, 2021 I meant the sprocket in the wheel end of the speedo cable. And the fact that it could be anything and no way of knowing what without investigation...
finnerz89
They have a digital dash so will be a speed sensor on that. If it's only reading half of actual speed then it will probably just be a sensor issue, or it could be whatever actuates the sensor. Might be a pair of magnets and one of them is missing.
