just bought an '82 yamaha SR250 exciter. i'm waiting to ride it until the air filter comes in the mail. runs ok, carb could probably use some cleaning. problem is, i went to change the oil filter, and noticed the the PO had replaced two of the stock 6mm allen bolts for the oil filter cover with severely stripped philllips screws. i'll have to drill those out later. the immediate concern is that when i put the one allen bolt back in after removing it, i inadvertently stripped the threads on the aluminum crankcase cover. i barely put any torque on that screw, so i suspect that it has been stripped and re-threaded before. does anyone have a crankcase cover for this model bike, or a solution that will work? a new cover is 185.85 from the dealer, which is almost as much as i paid for the bike.
