John1
Hi, Can anyone give me any idea why when I start the bike up after two minutes the generator outer cover starts to get very hot. I have exposed the generator assembly and as you can see from the pictures there are marks as if it was grinding with something. Or maybe it's as simple as the torque not being tight enought allowing movement when spinning? Hope this makes sense. Picture of the bike nearly completed... Thats how it's welded and it's heavy. 18 hours ago, blackhat250 said: Yip, can you lift the rotor up and down [ when bolted tight,] to see if the main bearing has play ,? Nope does not move. Seems tight when bolted in.
blackhat250
There is some lateral movement, Or windings are moving, [ aye Snakebite , that rotor gets power to it thru slip-rings [ brushes,] this power turns the rotor into a magnet, then spins inside the windings to make a magnetic field, . old but sffective, My moneys on the Left hand crank bearing worn ,,
