Hi folks,

I'm fairly new to riding and quite new to doing any sort of maintenance.

I need to replace a rotor and brake pads. I have a friend who will help me with the actual work, but I'm looking for advice on the parts. The bike is a 2001 YZF 600R.

I assume I have options other than the genuine Yamaha parts, and even if I go with Yamaha parts, I expect there are still multiple options. So what should I look for?  And I would love to hear any specific recommendations.

I'd go SBS for the pads, and probably EBC for the discs

I'm a fan of brembo disks and Carbon Lorraine pads if I had the choice
