Posted May 4, 20204 yr Hi all, I have a 82 Xj550 that’s been modified in a brat style manner. The standard XJ550 is a stunning bike and I wish mine was too. Anyways the engine is from a XJ600 numbered *51J- 071786* I’m having trouble getting it to fire. I’m not sure if I have the correct cdi box and I’ve bought two other cdi boxes the same but still no joy. Apparently there are two different cdi boxes for the XJ600 pre diversion bikes. Can anyone please help with identifying my engine year and correct cdi box? Many thanks in advance.
May 8, 20204 yr Yeah as Drewpy said try here www.fowlersparts.co.uk they have just about everyhing you could want, plus ID numbers to match so it well worth a try.
