Hello,

I’m a new member, and I’ve just been handed a 60’s era 125 vtwin which I’ve been told is “rare”. It’s in need of some attention so I’m looking forward to sharing pics and picking brains in the future.

(supposed to be helping kids with homework, if the missus catches me I’m a goner, so bye for today !)

Hi Blackhat250,

Thank you for the question, after a bit of research the Yamaha I have is a ~1967 YL1-E (the E is for electric, as in electric start rather than a magneto). It is also 100cc rather than 125cc as I was told, and it is a two stroke. So, 125cc vtwin is out, and 100cc two stroke is in :)
