I have brought a MX100 1980 from a USA import dealer and was told to get a dating letter from the yamaha owners club to send off to DVla with my first registration of a used motor vehicle application

thanks,

No you don't get a dating letter from us on here. we are just an owners club/site. you need to go to a .GOV site.

Try here https://www.gov.uk/importing-vehicles-into-the-uk/registering-an-imported-vehicle

And you will need a NOVA certificate to get the ball rolling, all explained on the site above. Good luck.

NOVA site here https://www.gov.uk/nova-log-in

You"l need  to fill in V55  form, [ print it off from that Gov,uk  site]   ,M,O,T  on the chassis number,   Insurance on the chassis nmbr,  you can get a dating cert  from Air-cooled RD forum,[ need to join, £ ]  , unless you have the original TITLE,   [usa log book],  ,And that Nova ,  he mentioned ,?

Tinder ?.................  ...............  I'll get my coat .... lol

Look for a sticker on the headstock that will state month and year of manufacture. Make sure that whoever does the dating certificate sees this as if it is close to change over month it might make a difference as to whether it gets a V or W registration number.
