Stax Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Pushing my bike along to park it up for the night I noticed a scraping noise coming from what sounded like the brake caliper. I put the bike up on the centre stand and pushed back on the bike so I could turn the front wheel. It definitely sounds like a fairly regular scraping noise is coming from the caliper. I'm wondering if it could be the front pads catching on the disk or something? I've had a search on the net to see if I could find out any helpful information about changing the brake pads as I figure that should be the first step, but couldn't find anything. Is it fairly straightforward, or should I just find a local specialist to take it to? TIA, Stax.
Collie Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 are your pads getting low? try some brake cleaner sprayed on to the pads disks etc, if not. maybe a small fragment of stone or pad or something has lodged in there just pull them off and have a look
steve Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 I would suggest the first thing to do is get a haynes manual for the bike, this shows how to take off and strip the calipers on the bike. I have done this on my sr125 with no trouble. Hope this helps
