Pushing my bike along to park it up for the night I noticed a scraping noise coming from what sounded like the brake caliper. I put the bike up on the centre stand and pushed back on the bike so I could turn the front wheel. It definitely sounds like a fairly regular scraping noise is coming from the caliper. I'm wondering if it could be the front pads catching on the disk or something?

I've had a search on the net to see if I could find out any helpful information about changing the brake pads as I figure that should be the first step, but couldn't find anything. Is it fairly straightforward, or should I just find a local specialist to take it to?

TIA,

Stax.

are your pads getting low?

try some brake cleaner sprayed on to the pads disks etc, if not.

maybe a small fragment of stone or pad or something has lodged in there just pull them off and have a look

I would suggest the first thing to do is get a haynes manual for the bike, this shows how to take off and strip the calipers on the bike.

I have done this on my sr125 with no trouble.

Hope this helps
