Help needed! The sight glass on my trusty Dragstar Custom needs replacing, but doesn't seem to be available without having to buy whole master cylinder. 

Second hand units are hard to come by and mostly seem to be available from the US as V-Star version. Can anyone tell me if this is a suitable replacement please?

It's also been suggested that the oil sight glass could be used. This is available as a separate item to buy, again does anyone have any knowledge of whether this could be used?

Well to be honest I didn't know if these came as a separate item either but having looked it up on the net there seem to be hundreds of them for sale from 10 to 18mm in size, just type in what you want and "Roberts your fathers brother" as they say..!

In about 2 minutes of looking, I typed in "Front Brake Master Cylinder -1997 XVS sight glass" give it a try and see what comes up.

Well I'll go the the foot of our stairs (as the saying goes)... Thank you for that. I must get my specs checked out - it wasn't there when i looked!
