Moderator Airhead Posted June 20, 2018 Moderator Posted June 20, 2018 working from memory the shim will allow the swing arm to be totally free from binding when the swing arm pivot is torqued up to spec, you have to remove the damper and wheel and have the bike supported to test that, then just left and release the swing arm and it should move freely 1
RickGM Posted June 21, 2018 Author Posted June 21, 2018 HELP. Trying to locate a Pivot bolt - Google has let me down. Anyone know a supplier?
Simon46 Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Is this where the shock attaches too at the top of swingarm or the bolt that connects the swingarm to the frame?

RickGM Posted June 21, 2018 Author Posted June 21, 2018 As Airhead says it's the bottom one. 12mm dia, approx 200mm long (excluding head), approx 16mm of thread. The one which connects to the bottom of the shocker on mine is just a clevis pin with a split pin stopping it from coming out (in addition to the tight fit).
Simon46 Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 The guy had 3 left when I rebuilt my 175mx. Let me see if I can find him. BrbSent from my G8141 using Tapatalk
NE0 Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 (edited) The part number you need is 2N4-22141-00 and is common to over 323 machines. Just a case of looking for one for another model https://www.cmsnl.com/yamaha-mx175-1980-a-usa_model8746/shaftpivot_2n42214100/ i think you have to log in to see the full list. https://www.bike-parts-yam.com/yamaha-motorcycle/assignment_spare_parts/2N4-22141-00 this also gives a list of other bikes it fits hope this helps.
