macvilla Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 I have a XT350 which is having starting problems. I ahve cleaned the carbs and renewed the inlet rubbers which had seperated and changed the spark plug but it still takes 20 or so kicks before it will fire up. Has anybody had this problem and solved it?
Pete Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Mine starts from cold (after leaving for weeks) in 2 or 3 kicks. Have you checked to see if the choke is working OK because they need a lot of choke to fire and during warm-up. The other thing is your kicking technique.....from cold I find TDC then a strong kick with full choke and no throttle. If you get this part wrong and keep kicking you may be flooding it.
Moderator YamaHead Posted June 28, 2006 Moderator Posted June 28, 2006 How bright does your spark look? Could it possibly be a dodgy primary coil?
