dwgoebel Posted June 26, 2006 Share Posted June 26, 2006 I recently got my hands on a 1980 XJ650G, and after a few weeks of work she is running strong. I couldn't be happier. I am however puzzled by the emblem on the side panels. According to the maual and the serial number, its an XJ650G, but the side panels read "Maxim-I" There is no reference to the "I" insignia anywhere in the manual. It might have something to do with it being an early generation Maxim? Mine was an '83 750.......& the later Maxim-X (5-valve head model) came out in '85 I believe?
