Posted April 9, 20187 yr Looking for some parts help. My son has a 2004 Yamaha V Star 650 Silverado. The other day after a ride he parks the bike and 2 days later he tried to start it. It would not start. It runs less than 5 seconds and quits. We have did the following. 1. Drained the tank and made sure it had fresh gas. 2. Replaced the spake plugs 3. Tried to start it with starting Fluid. I think maybe we need a new fuel pump and filter. Been on line and the prices got from $15.00 to $150.00 for the pump. I can't seem to locate the part number for that year and what do you guys thinks about the cheaper parts? Comments or suggestions please.
