Hi there,

Just took the bike out and at first the bike wouldn't respond to the key being turned. After turning the key 2-3 times the bike would start then die again.

Bike finally started and seemed okay. Then I lost complete power when I hit a certain rev count, and again took a few tries to get the bike going again.

Any idea of prices to get this sorted?

To get what sorted?

You haven't stated a problem, just symptoms. Your going to need to get dirty with spanners on this, or you may as well give a stealer er, dealer a blank cheque because they will just start at the ignition switch and start replacing things.

You need to narrow it down at the very least, is it exact rpm? can you make it happen? Pothole? Only turning left? Only happens in 3rd gear with your pants down? who knows. But every solid fact will point you to the culprit. That may well just be a lose connector for the ig switch.

The info you have given so far will get you ripped off, fact.

Start simple, it'll save you a headache later on.

Depending what year your YBR is it may have full electric authority; choke, starter interlocks etc. check your battery/starter solenoid/starter terminals are all tight, maybe even hook it up on jump leads and see if the symptoms are still there, you'd be surprised what gremlins can come out if your bike hasnt got a stable 12v power input. maybe see if you can get your hands on a multimeter and check the resting voltage of your battery.

Maybe check your plugs and wiring behind the headlight, not uncommon for pins to corrode in place or to come loose whcih can also cause spurious symptoms
