Exhaust Compatibility

Hi all,

New to the forum ( Yes i posted an intro forum police  )

I was wondering if any of you know if my model 1999 V-Star 650 Customs exhaust is compatible with the newer 2004+ model exhausts or even if it is tweak able (by a half decent mechanic) to fit. My bike needs some TLC aesthetically speaking and i saw these Vance & Hines Shortshots and fell in love!!

Also i am thinking of getting this sort of colour scheme with matte black engine and a more shiny tank and fenders but mostly blacked out. Do you guys think this would look good along with the exhaust above?

Would just like to get some opinions so i know it wont look absolutely terrible 

(I wont be getting the orange and yellow obviously i don't know what that is  )
