Posted July 29, 20168 yr First of all is like to say hi to everyone as this is my first post, in looking for advice if possible about a used xmax 125 2012, it's done 20000 miles so quite high but says it's had clutch, belt, rollers etc done, I was wondering if anyone else could tell me about the reliability of the xmax as 20000 seems quite high on a 125. any thoughts welcome, price is £1500 thanks all, Chris
July 29, 20168 yr Hi and welcome to the YOC, to be honest never rode one but if it has a good service record (either owner or dealer) then it's probably a good one if not then go on condition, if your still unsure look else where.
July 30, 20168 yr Author Hi thanks for the reply, the service history is good and Yamaha is generally reliable but would be nice to hear from someone that's owned 1, the read ups I've seen seems good bike in all, Thanks again, Chris
August 11, 20168 yr Author Hi buddy I live in Cornwall but a life long toon fan as my grandad was from there, still waiting for bike as courier said he can't bring it til Saturday, getting itchy feet waiting lol
August 14, 20168 yr Author Well the bike courier has let me down for the second time in a week and blaming the garage where it's from even though he has clear instructions regarding the bike, just spinning a load of bull about other jobs, Wednesday now he says, I had a few choice words as u can imagine, the garage is trying to alternative courier at reasonable rate as the bike is in South Yorkshire and I'm southwest Cornwall, real pain in the ass,
August 14, 20168 yr Aye chriis, I use Any van .com . its a shipping war type thing, great service too, you get quotes flying in from loads of vendors, . what bike,..?
August 15, 20168 yr Author Yamaha xmax 125, he has promised it will be here on Wednesday and arranged it with the garage i bought it from so fingers crossed this time, tried a couple sites like that and had two couriers arguing lol, both wanting to charge £300+
August 20, 20168 yr Author The bike finally showed up on Thursday and it's a great bike it's a shame I can't ride it at the mo as my back has give up for a mo, can't wait to run it properly as its a nice size and very stable, hard to believe it's only a 125, will add a pic or 2 in a couple daysÂ
September 16, 20168 yr Author Update on my xmax, it rides very well and stable, good on fuel and will go over 70mph which is quite good for a 125 scooter, it's quite heavy at 175kg but you don't notice it riding it at all, plenty of storage as well and 12v socket for phone etc, very comfy to, anyone looking for a 125 scooter I'd recommend this one, plenty space on it too as I'm 6 foot and it's not cramped at all, the only niggle is the noise from the screen above 45mph so will be changing or taking it off but very small niggle though cheers all Chris
