Hi I am making some big changes on a 1990 fzs600 that has a electronic speed sensor and I was wondering if someone has found a mechanical speedo drive that fits to use with some vintage speedometers

Best regards Örn

I am doing cafe look requested by the owner, and he wanted some specific speedo and tacho and the speedo is driven by cable so I need to find a mechanical speedo drive.

try an xj600 speedo drive, but it will need some machining on the wheel and lug on the fork to stop it spinning.

sure you can retrofit an old speedo with new internals

Does someone have the dimensions of a xj600 speedo drive, retainer clutch and driver washer?

I cant get any parts here in Iceland and its not fun ordering parts and have to wait 2 weeks to find out that I cant use them

So if someone wants to know what speedo drive to use when converting to an mechanical speedo meter.

The answere is a speedo drive and cable from an Yamaha YZF 600 Thundercat.
Yamaha 341-25846-00-00 341-25846-00-00 RETAINER,CLUTCH
and Yamaha RD Speedometer Drive Washer, 341-25149-00-0

Its a perfect fit. just plug ad play.
