Hi,

The indicators on the Virago XVS250 are in just the wrong position to fit decent sized panniers. Now this bike is no long-distance tourer, but I would like to take it on the occasional short camping trip. Has anyone moved the indicators to the back of the rear mudguard / fender(?) ? My idea this would clear an area to fit a rack that would attach to the hole in the rear mudguard previously used by indicator.

Regards,

Clive

Why not take the indicators off and fit panniers with built in indicators? Then when you have done your trip or whatever put them back on again. Just throwing it out there !

I did this to my Dragstar. It was piss-easy, to be honest. Might as well make it a permanent mod, as the bigger saddlebags will mean you use the bike more often!

You may have to bridge the wires so they'll reach, but that's just some bullet connectors, a bit of wire and a pair of crimps, really. The hardest part is getting both new holes equal!! :D

See on this Wiki page, the photo shows one with this exact mod already done: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_XV250
