first time posting new to this just looking for some help with a problem I have with my dtx125 06 plate.

basically I bought a dt 125 x but converted it to the off road version the bike has only 4,000 miles spent it's life in a shed! the bike has a full dep system and been fully derestricted and a piper cross air filter, now the problem I am having is when the bike is first started you can not touch the throttle for a good ten minutes of ticking over otherwise it's seems to flood and cut its self off, when the bike is warm it will run fine... on road take the bike off road and pin the throttle open over bumpy surface the bike loses power and does the same what it does when it's cold also does this trying to get up hills it seems as if it's flooding it's self. now I've took the carb apart and it has a 220 jet in? is this standard size or has someone rejetted? any ideas? I've cleaned all electrical connections cleaned carb, new sparkplug and so far having no luck!

any help would be appreciated

I don't like the phrase 'derestricted' as these bikes aren't to any real degree, more like a light tune, bike sounds lean to me. Especially the full throttle problems.

I would agree with airhead on the fuel flow but if your working it really hard that main jet may be a bit stingy. Lift the jet needle up and see if it improves, easy check.

Thanks for reply, unnable to lift needle as it's mikuni flat side looks like a sealed unit to me? I've ordered a pack of jets ranging from sizes 170-280 see if a bigger jet will make a difference, just sounds as tho its over fueling to me
