Hi having a problem with a XS250 generator,the previous owner cut the wires close to the rubber grommet and I need to find out which one of the 4 white wires is the one which isn't needed.is there any way of finding out ,tried a multimeter but get the same reading on all the wires.

 

thats because all the wires are the same.

in the UK you only need 3, the 4th was for the US perchance of having running daylights. the 4th wire powered a relay when the engine fired up and switched on the lights automatically
