2 Wheels
Hey lads Can one of you tell me how my rubber diaphragm should sit in the cylinder please. When I fill the cylinder to the correct level,, should the diaphragm be put in ( flat, ie. all closed up ) or ( open, ie. all pushed out ) Many thanks: Pat P's,,, how u all keeping
Moderator Cynic Posted February 7, 2016 Moderator Share Posted February 7, 2016 I think, and may be wrong, that its there to stop the fluid sloshing about as the level changes and causing bubbles and ruining your fluid. I have gone with flat tbh, never really thought on it too much, but I think the vacuum of the fluid dropping will pull it down as the level drops. Yeah fine thanks Pat, you should drop in more often. Moderator drewpy Posted February 8, 2016 Moderator Share Posted February 8, 2016 what cynic said, flat with the vacuum pulling down to fill any void. don't leave it so long let us know how you're doing

Could have some slight warpage too, my Suzuki discs warped to a dished profile. Didn't feel any vibes but it dragged, which heated the disc which caused more warp etc

2 Wheels
Ok, had a wee look again 2day. Looks like the caliper pistons are at fault. The bottom 2 small ones on each side are hard to push back. The master cylinder and splooge hole seem to be working well, I can see fluid return through the hole when supposed to. All the pipes look in good condition and are not soft anywhere when trying to squeeze them. The disks seem straight enough when I put a straight edge iron ruler across them,,,didn't take them off. This only started happening straight-away after I replaced the old pads,,tyre,,,bearings,,,speed sensor. (I done them all at same time.) So am guessing I need piston and seals for the caliper ? neversaydie
Could it be that now youve thicker pads on, theres a little too much fluid?
